Get the most out of your music
Well, Recently I’ve been getting tired of my music and looking for new ways to either find new music, or entertain myself with what I have. I good method of making my music last longer.
How to find music you like
This has been discussed many times all over the internet and news papers a like, because this is one of the best ways to make the most out of your music. Only buy music you like! Why waste money on complete albums when you can just get the two or three song you will listen to anyway. Below are the best ways to find music you like:
- Pandora - Pandora allows you to put in a few of your favorite songs or artists and then puts together a stream of content that it thinks you will like based on those selections. If you dont like a song you can skip it. If you like a song, you can give it a “thumbs up” and it will play songs like it more often.
- Mercora - Mercora allows users to search for their favorite songs, albums, or artists, then helps them connect to other users that are streaming music from that artist, album, or song.
- Last.fm - Last.fm tracks the music you listen to, then based on what you listen to, suggests other artists that you might be interested in. Not only that, its a complete social network based around music. You can join groups with other users that are interested in the same things you are.
How to entertain yourself with the music you have
I listen to music to much. I find an artist I like and I listen to them for a few days straight until I’m sick of them. Well, for anyone else out there like this, I’ve come up with a way to help.
- iTunes: Smart Playlist - If you dont have iTunes, get it. Once you have it and import all of your music, create a smart playlist to help you listen to a certain genre, or whatever…
- The Filter: iTunes Plugin - This great little plugin allows you to select a few songs and then with the press of a button create a playlist of songs with the same mood as the songs you selected. This is great for finding old gems.
- Keep things interesting - Always listen to albums shuffled.

The Filter certainly has helped me make the most out of my music library. The Playlist generator is pretty good and I like the iPod Filler function too.
