Bella Gowns

written May 4th, 2007 @ 3:14pm | kinda like: Projects

Well, its been a little while since I finished, but I thought it would be good to post about it.

wasn’t too bad, but definitely needed some sprucing up.

At the end of march, I began redesigning the Bella Gowns website. The original site, wasn’t too bad, but definitely needed some sprucing up. After a few mock-ups, I finally decided a design.

Features/Functionality on Bella Gowns

  • Data Driven - The site uses xml databases to make updates/editing easy.
  • Mootools - The amazing little javascript framework. I couldn’t live without it!
  • Thumbnail Viewer - A little flickr like thumbnail viewer, thanks to Casual/Lynt
  • Image Rotator - On the homepage, I made a mootools powered image slideshow.
  • Ajaxified - The whole site is ajaxified (in IE7, FF2, and Opera. Had Issues with IE6 for some reason). Tracks history, and all that good stuff.

This may seem odd for me to email you on this, but I did a google search on Bella Gowns and your site came up. Since you designed their website I have some questions I hope you don’t mind helping me with. I’m getting married in July and want a modest gown. I already ordered the skirt since it was easier to tell from the pictures and description which one I wanted. You did a great job on the website, although I find it difficult to tell the detail on the different bodices. Since you designed their website I thought maybe you could email me the higher resolution pictures if you have them for bodices 5263, 5264, and 5259. I’m especially interested in seeing 5264 better if nothing else, whatever better pictures you may have of that. There were more pictures of the bodices on the old bella website, but either they won’t enlarge or if they do, it’s still hard to see the detail. I’m sure you’re real busy being in school, but if you even have time to help me in seeing bodice 5264 better, I would really appreciate it! There aren’t any stores even in my extended area that carry it otherwise I would just go and see it. Thank you so much for your assistance! Kelley
